What is Fused Glass?
Fusing is the technical term used to create her glasswork. Sheet glass is cut and layered in an electric kiln and taken to high temperatures to melt together.
The molten glass sheets sink into designs hand drawn into sand during the firing to take on the desired pattern.
Air bubbles are trapped between layers and most pieces undergo multiple firings.

Jenny's Whitianga farming upbringing on Coromandel Peninsula, close to nature, is a constant reference point in her work. This combined with 30 years living in Auckland, the biggest Polynesian city in the world, along with travel to many Pacific islands, inspires her art.
Jenny McLeod holds a Craft and Design Diploma with a distinction in glass.
You are warmly welcomed to visit Jenny and her gallery in person at 644 Pollen St Thames.
